Publicist, marketer, writer, reader, mother, traveler, and accidental Southerner Caitlin Hamilton Summie blends her lifelong love of books with a wide base of publishing experience to brand, launch, and promote books and authors in all genres.
As a marketing diva at MacMurray & Beck (the small literary press that morphed into MacAdam/Cage) and at Penguin Putnam, she managed imprint profile and directed all publicity, hardcover and paperback. In 2003, she founded Caitlin Hamilton Marketing & Publicity, LLC, an independent book publicity and marketing firm. She's also written book reviews for The Rocky Mountain News, author profiles for ABA’s Bookselling This Week, and has published both short stories and poems.
"Every book requires a burst of initial publicity and then a marathon effort to keep it alive in the marketplace," says Caitlin. "That means your publicist needs to care as much about your book as you do. We don’t take on books that we don’t care about, and we offer personal, tailored campaigns designed to promote your title as well as you as an author."
